Sermon review -- 2 Corinthians 10:1-6:
  • Why do shepherds need to be both humble and bold? 
  • How might you respond to a zealous christian who seems to be destroying people with his superior logic rather than destroying "arguments" (v5)?
  • What are some "strongholds" (v4) or "lofty opinions" (v5) in the broader culture that must be countered with the gospel?
  • What are some common thoughts (v5) that christians need to take captive to Christ? Which of these do you relate to most personally?
  • How should we respond to wolves that enter the church? How should we respond to the sheep that begin to give ear to and follow the wolves?
  • How does church discipline engage every believer to participate?

  • What repeated words do you find in this passage? 
  • How do we understand Paul's boasting?

  • How is authority in the church commonly viewed? 
  • How would you define the purpose for gospel authority (v. 8)? What does it say about a person who continually subverts faithful gospel authority in the church?
  • What would you think if you overheard a person who desired church leadership subtly demeaning the church leadership and subtly drawing attention to their own gifts, wisdom, and experience? 
  • What does the world "boast" about? Where should our boasts ultimately be?
